Dall Sheep

Dall sheep hunts are consistently the most challenging hunts in Alaska. The big rams feel safe in the rugged mountains, and that’s where we must hunt. Dall sheep hunting forces a hunter to use every skill, even the skills developed while hunting as a kid. A strong mental attitude and physical ability is necessary for this hunt. It’s never too late to hunt dall sheep. You must want it.

The hunt is a backpack trip, therefore training with some weight is a must. If you walk several miles with your backpack a few times a week to prepare you, will enjoy the hunt and everything around. Given the nature of the hunt, mostly freeze dried meals make up the menu. However, base camp will have a few extra amenities. Hunts in the later part of the season can be combined with a grizzly, black bear, caribou, or wolf.
